Platelets are essential to the prevention of bleeding when blood vessels are damaged. However, when platelets activate too much or at the wrong time and place the result is thrombosis, leading to heart attacks and stroke. The aim of our group is to understand the complex mechanisms that regulate platelet activation, from a molecular to a systems level. We use a wide range of experimental approaches, including in vitro functional and biochemical assays, state-of-the-art imaging, and in vivo disease models.
